Jack Bostwick, Former Postmaster

Services for Jack Boatwick [sic Bostwick], 78, of Bentley will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Hixson Bros., Pineville, with the Revs. Leland Briggs, C.E. Brewer and Frank N. Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

He died Monday morning in his home.

He was a native of Shreveport and a retired farmer and cattleman. He was a former postmaster in Bastrop and a former Grant Parish and Morehouse Parish school teacher. He was a Vernon Parish guidance counselor, having started the program there, and a member of Bastrop Mason Lodge. He prepared income tax during his retirement years.

Survivors include his wife, Verna Mae Looper Bostwick of Bentley; one son, Dr. Malcolm O. Bostwick of Zachary; two sisters, Katie B. Crew and Mrs. Willie Mason, both of Shreveport; and one grandchild.
