Jack Fountain Hollis
Jack Fountain Hollis, 83, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2004. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday at First United Methodist Church of Warner Robins with burial in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hollis was born in Taylor County, GA to the late Edward A. and Mary L. Fountain Hollis. While in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Hollis fought in W.W. II and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He was employed at Robins Air Force until his retirement as a Weapons Systems Manager. Then, Mr. Hollis worked in the Tax Assessors Office of Houston County for 24 years. Mr. Hollis was a member of the First United Methodist Church were he served as a trustee, former Sunday School teacher, treasurer and a member of the Fidelity Sunday School Class. Mr. Hollis was a member of the Tyrian Lodge 111 and one of the founders of the former Commerce Bank of Warner Robins.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ellene M. Hollis of Warner Robins, sons, Robert Fountain Hollis of Charlotte, NC and Jack Stephen Hollis of Athens, GA
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund at 205 N. Davis Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31093 or to Hospice of Houston County at 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
The family would like to give special thanks to David Hammond of Athens, GA and to Debby Jones of Charlotte, NC. Also a special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Houston County and to the staff of Serenity Gate.
