Jack H. Griffin

H. Griffin, 81, of Lake Charles died at 4:50 AM on Saturday, May 1, 2010 in his residence.

Mr. Griffin was born on December 7, 1928 in Jena, LA and had lived in Lake Charles since 1946. He was a graduate of Jena High School. Mr. Griffin retired from Cities Service in 1991 as a shift supervisor. He was a faithful and dedicated member of the Boulevard Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing and camping, but his greatest joy was devoting his time to his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Dell Griffin of Lake Charles. He is also survived by his three children: Terri Edwards and husband Bill, Jackie Decareaux and husband Don, all of Lake Charles, and son Steve Griffin and wife Margaret who reside in Maplewood. He is survived by one sister, Marcheta Wilson of Lake Charles, and seven grandchildren: Billy Edwards, Jr. and wife Tammy of Lake Charles, Jason Edwards and wife Kara of Moss Bluff, Adam Edwards and wife Nancy, Kristina Edwards, Daniel Decareaux, Callie Decareaux all of Lake Charles, and Shannon Griffin of Maplewood. In addition he has four great grandchildren: Taylor, Maddie, Nora Belle, and Adam Truitt Edwards.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Firman and Ena Griffin, and one sister, Vivian Ryan.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 3, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Paul Franks will officiate. Burial will be in Meadows Cemetery near Merryville, LA.

Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue Monday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
