KROHN, Jack Horace

Born March 26, 1924, to parents Horace and Katherine Krohn and at age 85 years young, entered into eternal rest on August 19, 2009. Jack proudly served two tours of duty with the U.S. Navy aboard several vessels including: USS Villa Lobos, Kalinin Bay, Arnold J. Isbell, Randolph, President Adams and Harveson. He was a proud veteran of World War II and Korean War. He had recently attended the reunion and decommissioning ceremonies for the U.S.S. Harveson in Washington D.C.

Jack is survived by Dennis (Michele) Krohn, Gary (Liz) Krohn, Joseph (Kathryn) Krohn and Mary Ann (Robert) Corkett. He is also the grandfather of Dennis Jr. (Angie) Krohn, Chris (Nicole) Krohn, Amy Burbank, Lauren and Allison Krohn. Jack is also survived by one brother Bill Krohn.

He is predeceased by his loving wife Vera of 58 years, son Michael Krohn, Deborah Krohn and two sisters, Kay and Marge.

Jack was active in the growth of St. Mel's Catholic Church and a long time member of Knights of Columbus at St. Rose and St. Mel's. He is also a former volunteer of Senior Gleaners, sports coach and Boy Scout leader. After working as a carpenter for 37 years at Aerojet, he was active in the retired employees group.

Friends are invited to attend an August 27 visitation from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., with the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (6335 Sunrise Blvd, CH 725-2109), and Mass of Christian Burial on August 28 at 10:00 a.m. at St Mel's Catholic Church (4745 Pennsylvania Ave, Fair Oaks.) Interment following at Calvary Cemetery.
