Jack Freeman

Jack Junior Freeman died Feb. 29, 2004, at Summit Medical Center, Baton Rouge. He was 74 and a resident of Walker. He was a retired plumber and pipefitter in the local union 198 in Baton Rouge.

Visitation was at Hartman Funeral Home, McComb, Miss., Tuesday and Wednesday. Religious services were at the Hartman Chapel Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Donald Smith and Rev. Joe Hammack. Interment was in Montgomery Baptist Church, Summit, Miss.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bobbie Jeanette Dunn Freeman of Walker; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Dianne Freeman Thomas and Don Ray Sr.; grandchildren and their spouses, Sharelle Thomas and Danny Booher and Donnie and Angie Thomas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike C. and Joy Freeman and Donald E. and Geraldine Freeman; and sisters and a brother-in-law, Inez Brown of Livingston, Bobbie Carter of Walker, Geneva Muirhead and Shirley and Cliff Chisholm of Denham Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Wren and Nora Estella Norton Freeman; a daughter, Sybil Lea Freeman; two granddaughters, Sharelyn Dianne Thomas, Samantha DeShae Thomas; a brother, William Freeman; and a sister, Leona ``Skeeter'' Chisholm.

Jack Junior Freeman, 74, of Walker, La., died Feb. 29, 2004, at Summit Medical Center in Baton Rouge, La.

Visitation is 5 to 9 tonight at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb, and 11 a.m. Wednesday until services there at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Donald Smith and the Rev. Joe Hammack will officiate. Burial will be in Montgomery Baptist Church Cemetery in Summit.

Mr. Freeman was born Aug. 23, 1929, in Lincoln County. He was the son of William Wren Freeman and Nora Estella Norton Freeman.

He was a retired plumber and pipefitter in Local Union 198 in Baton Rouge. He loved woodworking, woodcrafts and fishing.

Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sybil Lea Freeman; two granddaughters, Sharelyn Dianne Thomas and Samantha DeShae Thomas; one brother, William Freeman; and one sister, Leona ``Skeeter'' Chisholm.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Bobbie Jeanette Dunn Freeman of Walker; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Dianne Freeman Thomas and Don Ray Sr. of Hephzibah, Ga.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike C. Freeman and Joy of Summit, and Donald E. Freeman and Geraldine of Marshall, Ark.; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Inez Brown of Livingston, La., Bobbie Carter of Walker, Geneva Muirhead of Pearl, and Shirley and Cliff Chisholm of Denham Springs, La.; two grandchildren and their spouses, Sharelle Thomas Booher and Danny of Augusta, Ga., and Donnie Thomas and Angie of Hephzibah; and two great-grandchildren, Aaron Booher and Britany Booher, both of Augusta.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Thomas, Cecil Brown, Terry Chisholm, Gerald Freeman, Jimmy Freeman and Curtis Edmonds. Honorary pallbearer is Todd Dugas.
