Jack Wayne Lofton
Jack Wayne Lofton, 83, of Alexandria, passed from this life into the Arms of his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 13 2016, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Jack Wayne Lofton will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 16, 2016, at First United Methodist Church, Pineville with Pastor Ed Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and continue Monday at the Church from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Sean Lofton, Matt Lofton, Eric Ryland, Matt Smith, Evan Lofton, and Tom Juneau. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Cenla Roadrunners RV Club.
Jack was a Bolton High School graduate and proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Pineville, Escapees RV Club and Cenla Roadrunners RV Club. Jack took early retirement from CLECO after 25 years of service. He and Doris became full-time RVers, enjoying visiting all 50 states, Mexico and Canada. Up until his illness, they still traveled to South Texas for the winter, to visit family in Georgia and South Dakota and to Grand Isle to enjoy fishing and crabbing and monthly trips with their camping club. Jack was blessed with many talents, from drawing, woodcarving and photography, and being able to fix anything that needed repair, to cooking, especially frying fish. His love of the outdoors, from the scenery to teaching his children and grandchildren to hunt and fish, were his passions. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his grandson, Brandon Ryland and his parents, Roy and Marie Gaspard Lofton.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Doris Joy Lofton; children, Kevin Lofton and wife, Teresa, Scott Lofton and wife, Lori, Mike Lofton and Jenice Ryland and husband, Randy; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has designated, First United Methodist Church, Pineville, Building Fund, 2550 Monroe Hwy, Pineville, LA 71360 or to the Charity of Donors choice.
The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to Compassionate Care Hospice, , Monica, Dee Dee, Rebecca, Drs. John Smith and Vincent Mallory and his sitter, Tom Juneau.
