Jackie Dale Taunton

Jackie Dale Taunton, 52, of Jonesville, died Wednesday, November 23, 2005, at the LaSalle General Hospital of Jena.

He was born in Jena on May 22, 1953, and was owner of Mike's Cycle of Jonesville.

Mr. Taunton unselfishly served the Lord. He was a dedicated member of Utility Baptist Church, serving as deacon and Sunday School teacher. Jackie Dale was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family and adored his twin grandsons, Xander and Maddox.

He was well respected throughout the community and will be sorely missed by all those whose life he touched.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 26, at Utility Baptist Church with Brother Buddy Manning and Revs. James Foster and Tony Ganey officiating.

Interment followed in the Locus Grove Cemetery under direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville.

Survivors include his wife, Lana Taunton of Jonesville; parents, Jack and Iris Taunton of Jonesville; two sons, John Logan Taunton of Birmingham, Ala., and Micah Taunton and wife Brandi of Jonesville; grandsons, Maddox and Xander Taunton of Jonesville; one brother, Ben Taunton and wife Connie of Jonesville; one sister, Connie Taunton Manning and husband Buddy of Jonesville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Brandon Manning, Matthew Taunton, Thomas Burgoyne, Jason Montpelier, David Hillard, and Kelsey Foster.

Honorary pallbearers were Charles Wood, Conley Manning, E. W. Walker, Darby Russell, Delbert Wood,Steve Chevallier, and Clifford White.
