Rev. Jackson Z. Sikes

SAREPTA -- The Rev. Jackson Zachary Sikes, 87, of Sarepta died Monday night in a Plain Dealing nursing home after a long illness.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today in Old Sarepta Baptist Church with the Rev. Don McCormick and the Rev. Wayne Watson officiating. Burial will be in Old Sarepta Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary of Springhill.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lula Mae Sikes of Sarepta; two sons, Clayton J. Sikes of Sarepta and T.M. Sikes of Cotton Valley; three daughters, Mrs. Elbert Matthews and Lula Hymer, both of Sarepta, and Mrs. Fred Price of Shreveport; two brothers, O.T. Sikes of Baskin and William Sikes of Crowville; two sisters, Mrs. Otis Stephenson of Baskin and Ethylene Curry of Crowville; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Jackson Zachery Sikes

Funeral services were held for the Rev. Jackson Zachery Sikes, who died on October 1, at the age of 87.

Officiating at the funeral were the Rev. Don McCormick and the Rev. Wayne Watson. Burial was in the Old Sarepta Cemetery in Sarepta.

Jackson was a Baptist preacher for 53 years.

He is survived by two sons, Clayton J. Sikes of Sarepta and T. M. Sikes of Cotton Valley; three daughters, Mrs. Elbert Matthews and Mrs. Lula Hymer, both of Sarepta; Mrs. Fred L. Price, Shreveport; two brothers, William Sikes of Crowville and D. T. Sikes of Baskin; two sisters, Mrs. Ottice Stephenson of Baskin and Mrs. Ethilene Curry of Crowville; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
