Mrs. Jakie K. Hinton

Funeral service for Mrs. Jakie K. Hinton, 67, were conducted at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon from Soso Baptist church with the Rev. Johnny Foy and the Rev. Ollie Parker officiating.

Interment followed in Union Line cemetery with the Thompson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Death came at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon at a Laurel hospital following an illness of long duration.

A lifelong resident of Soso, she was widely known. She was a member of Soso Baptist church, the W. M. U. and Eastern Star. Full Eastern Star rites will be accorded at the graveside.

Named as active pallbearers are Roy Welch, Carl Sims, Joe Thornton, Lawrence Ingram, Gibson Wade and Kimble Harper.

Included as honorary pallbearers are Bob Windham, Tim Valentine, Alonzo Musgrove, Leon Musgrove, Dan Shows, Joe Gunter, Ance Coats, Howell Sumrall, F. W. Wade Sr., Wesley Moss, Hiram Jefcoat, Elmer Royals and George Shows.

She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Garrett, Soso; Mrs. Narine Moore, Mobile; and Miss Yeneva [sic Geneva] Hinton, Jackson;

Eight sons, Craven Hinton and Herman Hinton, both of Mineral Wells, Texas; Roy Hinton, Ance Hinton and Jesse Hinton, all of Soso; C. H. Hinton, Tom Hinton and B. F. Hinton, all of Laurel;

A sister, Mrs. Victoria Holloway, Laurel; one brother, Lawrence Price, Lucedale.
