DR. J. A. FOUNTAIN DIES AT MACON OF HEART ATTACK

Born and Reared in Taylor County, Dr. Fountain Had Practiced His Profession in Macon 26 Years.

In the death at Macon Thursday night, June 26, of Dr. J. A. Fountain Taylor county lost on of its native sons who had become distinguished in his chosen profession as a practicing and office physician in the city of Macon.

Dr. Fountain's death was attributed to a heart attack which he suffered only two days before the end came at a Macon hospital to which institution he was rushed following the attack.

Dr. Fountain, who was in the 54th year of his age, was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Fountain, who in life-time were among Taylor county's most prominent citizens. Following his graduation in medicine at Vanderbuilt University he located at Macon for the practice of his profession and in which he was engaged in the Middle-Georgia city for 26 years. He was identified with the state and Sixth District Medical society and a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the First Baptist church at Macon.

Funeral services for Dr. Fountain were held at 11:30 a.m. in Memorial Chapel, Dr. William E. Denham, Jr., officiating and burial was in Riverside cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dr. Charles F. Cooper, Dr. Tom Ross, Dr. Willard Golson, Dr. W. C. Boswell, Dr. Leon Porch and Dr. W. L. Barton.

Besides his wife Dr. Fonutain [sic Fountain] is survived by one daughter, Miss Luciene Fountain and one son, Mr. James Fountain; also the following brothers and sisters: T. L. Fountain and Mrs. L. M. Doyel, of Butler; Messrs A. J. and Dan Fountain, Mrs. R. E. Aultman and Mrs. Clinton Woods of Reynolds; and Mr. J. R. Fountain, of Cuthbert.
