James A. Rayner, 63, of Laurel, died on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 3, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Church in Bay Springs. The Rev. Eddie Bryant will officiate.
Mr. Rayner was a lineman with Carson Line Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Dot Rayner; brothers, Lloyd Rayner and Clyde Rayner; and sister, Shirley Yates.
Survivors include his wife, Lynda Rayner of Ellisville; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Cindy Rayner Jr. and James Walter and Krystal Rayner, all of Laurel; step-daughter, Regina Boyd and husband Daniel of Ellisville, brother and sister-in-law, Billy Ray and Sandra Rayner of Laurel; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Faye and Thurman Lancaster of Columbus, Ann and Steve Corley of Waynesboro, Cathy Breazeale of Laurel and Betty Sue and Marvin Walters of Hattiesburg, and Lonnie Yates of Laurel; seven grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Brady, Marshall Jenkins, Samuel Mashburn, Sean Watts, Lloyd Wayne Rayner, Johnny Dewayne Yates, Forrest Boatwright and Charles Welch.
Visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m. this evening at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, which is in charge of the arrangements.
