Last Rites Held For Sam Emmons
James Alvin (Sam) Emmons, 63, of Lake, Rt. 1, passed away at his home suddenly Thursday morning. He was found in the cattle barn early that morning.
Services were held from the Pine Ridge Baptist Church on May 24, 1959 and burial was in the Pine Ridge Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Emmons, Rt. 1, Lake; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest N. Evans, Jackson, and Mrs. Ed Campbell, Marion, S. Carolina. Two sons; Perry Emmons, U. S. Navy, San Diego, Calif., and Corentz [sic Counce] Emmons, Escatawpa, Miss. He leaves seventeen grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, one sister; Mrs. Marion Weaver of Lake, Rt. 1. Four brothers; Isaam [sic Isom] Emmons, Bougalusa [sic Bogalusa], La., Dewey Emmons, Lake, Jessie Lee and Merle Emmons, Newton.
