James Ansel Harper
Funeral services for James Ansel Harper, 79, of Crowville, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Interment was in Crowville Masonic Cemetery with the Rev. Marion Collier and the Rev. Dick Paige officiating.
A native of Winn Parish, he was a retired building contractor, a member of the First Baptist Church of Crowville, past member of A.G.C. of Monroe and Baton Rouge, and past president of the Union Oil Mill, Inc. He was a member of the board of directors of the Franklin State Bank. He died on Sunday, Aug. 11, following a lengthy illness.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Highlender Harper, Crowville; one son, James K. Harper, Crowville; and one sister, Inez Harper Street, West Monroe.
Pallbearers were Joel E. Street, William C. Street, Jimmy Street, Charlie Hatten, Scott Hatten, Mark Street, William H. Dunn, and Charles Simmons.
