J. B. Allen Expires In Home on March 1

J. B. Allen, 77 year-old Lone Cedar community resident, died in the family home on Saturday night of March 1. Final rites were held at 1:30 o'clock on Monday afternoon of March 3 in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ola Riley of Lone Cedar, with the Rev. Hubert Childress, evangelist, assisted by the Rev. Leslie Olson, evangelist.

Interment of the well-known farmer followed in the Lone Cedar cemetery under the direction of the Hixson Funeral Home of Monroe.

Mr. Allen had been in ill health for a number of years: however, death came unexpectedly following a three-day illness.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by two sons, Huey and Charlie of Rayville; three daughters, Mrs. Arah Johnson of Gilbert, Mrs. Ala (sic Ola) Riley, route 3, Winnsboro, Mrs. Lois Adcock of Rayville; one brother, Bill Allen of Monroe; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
