JONESBORO, LA. - Services for Mr. James Bland Fain, 76, of Jonesboro, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday April 30 at the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. Dr. Herb Dickerson will officiate. Burial: Jonesboro Cemetery. Plans under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

Mr. Fain, a native of Bernice, La. and a longtime resident of Jonesboro, died Thursday afternoon April 28, 1983, after a short illness. He was a retired postmaster of Jonesboro and, before becoming postmaster, taught school in Jackson Parish, La. He was a past president of the Lions Club, a member of Jonesboro Lodge No. 280 F&AM, the Order of the Eastern Star, and was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, where he served on the church Building Committee.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ora Lee Fain of Jonesboro; one sister, Mrs. Eunice Culpepper of Darlington, Md.; a nephew Leonard Wallace Culpepper of Lanham, Md.
