Mr. James Byron ``JB'' Taunton
1931-2009

Graveside service for Mr. James Byron JB Taunton, 77, of Alexander City, will be Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Bethlehem-New Salem Cemetery with Rev. Walter Coleman officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.

Mr. Taunton passed away on Monday, February 23, 2009 at Russell Medical Center. He was born on May 24, 1931 in Tallapoosa County to James Byron Taunton, Sr. and Pearlie Peters Taunton. He was a member of River Road Baptist Church. Mr. Taunton enjoyed meeting and talking with his friends and neighbors. He loved to walk and fish and enjoyed the outdoors. He was a musician and played the guitar and wrote songs.

He is survived by his daughter, Ida Virginia Southers (J.D.) of Heflin; granddaughter, Angela Denise Munroe (James) of Heflin; grandson, Jerome Ashley Southers (Misty) of Heflin; great-grandchildren, Paige Munroe, Michelle Munroe, Makayla Southers, Jackson Holcombe and Jordan Holcombe, all of Heflin; sisters, Pauline Robinson (Sam) and Louise Foster, all of Alexander City and Ruby Gean Reed (Charles) of Jacksons Gap; nieces, Paula Carrell and Cindy Lou Thornton, both of Alexander City and Patsy Johnston of Slidell, LA and nephews, Byron Brent Yates of Millbrook, Charles Lee Fleming of Cleveland, GA, Charles Perryman Reed of Jacksons Gap and Mark Thomas Foster of Alexander City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jewel Irene Triplett Taunton and brother, J.C. Taunton.
