J. C. Walker, radio station manager, dies

J. C. Walker, 52, died unexpectedly Sunday at his home, 317 South 17th Ave. He had been a resident of Hattiesburg for 33 years and was manager of Radio Station WXXX.

He was a member of Court Street Methodist Church, of the Men's Bible Class and the Methodist Men's Club.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hulett Chapel with Rev. Homer Peden, Rev. O.S. Lewis and Rev. Chester Moulder officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mary Walker; two sons, Allen and Bob of Hattiesburg; one daughter, Jane of Hattiesburg; two brothers, Willis Walker Sr and John Walker, both of Hattiesburg; three sisters, Mrs. B. F. Busby of Artesia, Mrs. Walter Blair of Quitman and Mrs. Eliza Neely of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews, including Dr. Willis Walker Jr and Dr. Prentice Walker, both of Hattiesburg.
