MONTICELLO -- Carl Johnson, 82, of Jersey (Bradley County), died April 1, 1995, at the Drew Memorial Hospital at Monticello.
A native of Jersey, he was born May 16, 1912, a son of the late Jim and Annie Anders Johnson. He was a retired farmer.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Warren.
Survivors include his wife, Madge Ormand Johnson, whom he married December 7, 1940; a son, Sam Johnson of O'Fallon, Illinois; four daughters, Margaret Ann Starnes of Cabot, Betty Heird of Warren, Linda White of Atlanta and Carla Crowder of Sherwood; three brothers, the Rev. Jessie Johnson of Little Rock, the Rev. Robert Johnson of Hampton and J. P. Johnson of Bryant; three sisters, Mable Graham and Mary Lee, both of Warren, and Francis Holderfield of Pansy (Cleveland County); 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church at Warren by the Rev. David Steele. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery at Jersey by Frazer's Funeral Home at Warren.
