JAMES CLINTON WAITES

Funeral services will be held for James Clinton Waites, 78, of 3103 Audubon Drive, at 10 a.m. Monday, from Memory Chapel of Laurel. Waites, a native of Jasper County, who had retired from the City of Laurel in the City's Water Works, died Friday evening in Jones County Community Hospital, following an extended illness. A veteran of World War I, Waites was a member of the Marvin E. Stainton American Legion Post II, a Mason and a member of Parkview Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Crestview Cemetery with Masonic Graveside services. The Revs. Don Collins and Martin Case will be officiating.

Survivors include Waite's widow, Mrs. Florence Bishop Waites; one son, Jay Clifton Waites, Weatherfield, Conn.; one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Lyons, Chicago, Ill.; three brothers, Foster Waites, Lucedale, Hascal Waites, Moss and Edgar Waites, Hattiesburg; three sisters, Mrs. Queen Montgomery, Picayune, Mrs. Daisey Windham, Bay Springs and Mrs. Nonie Prescott, Louin; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
