JAMES CORBIT SIMS
James Corbit Sims, 73, of Bay Springs, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at Jasper General Hospital in Bay Springs. A retired business owner, Mr. Sims was a farmer, He had served in the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve Chester and Lena Shoemaker Sims; his brothers, Lesker Sims and Coyt Sims; and his sisters, Ester Lee Kyle and Nobie Read.
Mr. Sims is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Sims; his son, Jim Sims of Bay Springs; his grandchildren, James Roy Sims and Samuel Sims; his brothers, Jacob Haskel Sims and Toby Sims, both of Louin, Chester Coburn Sims of Pearl and Steve Sims of Gray, Tenn.; his sisters, Sammie Morgan of Sante Fe, N.M., Opal Sims of Brandon, Bobbie Helen Johnson of Laurel and Glenda Ann Sims of Richmond, Va.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Bay Springs.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Colonial Chapel with interment in Bay Springs Cemetery. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, Bay Springs, is in charge of arrangements.
