JAMES D. ``JIMMY'' WALKER

Funeral services for James D. ``Jimmy'' Walker, 74, of Waynesboro, were held Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, from the Freeman Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, with the Rev. Frankie Clark and the Rev. Phillip Gandy officiating.

Interment was in the Liberty Cemetery in Wayne County.

Born Sept. 4, 1934, and a native of Wayne County, Walker worked as a maintenance supervisor for Ciba Geigy. He worked for Ciba Geigy for 28 years, and after retirement worked as a heavy equipment operator.

He was also an avid fisherman, hunter, farmer and catfish farmer. Walker was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

He died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at his residence in Waynesboro.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn A. Walker of Waynesboro; two sons, Jimmy Ted Walker and wife Remonia V. of Mobile, Ala., and James Arlen Walker and wife Cindy D. of Waynesboro; three daughters, Patrica W. Holston and husband Ben of Waynesboro, Sandra W. Barr of Vidalia, La., and Anna W. Evans and husband Tim of Fulton; two brothers, O.W. Walker and Bidmer Ray Walker, both of Waynesboro; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Walker; his father, Bidmer Walker; and a sister, Margie Johnson.

Freeman Funeral Home of Waynesboro was in charge of arrangements.
