WARD 8 CITIZEN BURIED AT OLD BETHEL TUES.

J. Daniel Mott, of ward 8, died of heart trouble Monday at his home on Boeuf river and was buried the following day -- Tuesday -- in Old Bethel cemetery near Clarks, with Rev. J. D. Kitchingham, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Columbia in charge of the services before being turned over to the local Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Mott was a prominent planter of his ward and parish, and will be missed by his many friends. He served as police juror for ward 8 a number of years. He was 56 years of age at the time of his death.

Active pallbearers were L. Rogers, W. D. McSween, S. B. Harrelson, S. H. Thompson, J. B. Thompson and J. B. Fluitt.
