Hawthorn Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. James David “Bubba” Courtney, 61 of Timpson, Texas. Mr. Courtney died Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at his home in Timpson, Texas. Cremation arrangements are by Hawthorn Funeral Home in Carthage, Texas.

Mr. James David “Bubba” Courtney was born August 8, 1949 in Vivian, Louisiana to the marriage of Donaphin Kern and Maxine Gilbert Courtney. He was a graduate of North Caddo High School with the class of 1967 and served his country through the United States Army. “Bubba” spent his life in the construction industry as a welder.

He is survived by his mother, Maxine Courtney of Timpson, daughter, Krystal Festervan and husband Allen of McCloud, brother, Don Courtney and wife Linda of Rodessa, LA, sister, Vicki Hailey of Timpson and two grandchildren, numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
