Last Rites For Dayton Roberts, 33, Held Here Today

Funeral services for James Dayton Roberts, 33, of near Winnfield, were held at 11 a.m. today (Thursday) at the Couley Church with the Rev. C. M. Robinson officiating. Interment was in Couley Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Mr. Roberts died at the St. Francis Hospital in Monroe Tuesday afternoon, May 25. He had undergone an operation Monday night and had been under medical treatment for a stomach disorder during the past several months.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Estelle Roberts of Winnfield; his father, George H. Roberts, Laurel Heights; his stepmother, Mrs. G. H. Roberts; two sons, Jimmie Dee and Michael of Winnfield; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Gillespie, Woodworth, La., and Mrs. Albert Slaughter of Camden, Arkansas; and three brothers, Benny, Thomas, and Alex, all of Winnfield. He is also survived by an adopted brother, Alton Hester, Jonesboro.
