J. D. Flippen Succumbs to Heart Attack

James Donald Flippen, 48-year-old contractor, builder and vending machine operator, died at his residence of 418 Boulevard at 12:15 p.m. Sunday of a heart attack.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Rose-Neath Chapel and burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.

A former resident of McCarley, Miss., Mr. Flippen moved to Shreveport 18 years ago. He was self employed and belonged to the Methodist Church.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Hazel Buse [sic Buce] Flippen; one son, Robert D. River [sic Robert B. Rivet], Corpus Christi, Tex.; one daughter, Mrs. Caroline [sic Carolyn] Faye Joyner, Sibley; three brothers, Homer W. and Samuel B. Flippen of McCarley and Ira D. Flippen, Natchez, Miss., and two sisters, Mrs. J. L. Denham, El Dorado, Ark., and Mrs. Edward Felts, Greenwood, Miss.

The body will be at Rose-Neath until time for services.
