James E. Hill Sr.
Funeral services for James Eldin [sic Elvin] Hill Sr., 72, of Archibald, retired superintendent with the Richland Parish Police Jury, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 24, in the First Baptist Church of Archibald. The Rev. Steve Sallis will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Lynn Cemetery in Archibald under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville.
Mr. Hill died April 22 in the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Archibald, and had been employed with the Richland Parish Police Jury for 39 years. He retired as superintendent.
Mr. Hill also participated in numerous civic events and activities in Archibald and the entire area.
He is survived by his wife, Mr. Ogal Lee Newman Hill of Archibald; two sons and daughters-in-law, James E. and Nancy Hill Jr., and Sidney Ray and Rhonda Hill; eight grandchildren, Jennifer L. Hill, Stacey R. Hill, Caroline Hill, Kylie R. Hill, Jessica M. Hill, Jeffrey S. hill, Lance N. Hill and Rebecca A. Hill; and the following sisters and brothers, Mrs. Bernice Boydstun, Mrs. Lona McDonald, G. C. Hill Jr., Mrs. Ann Jones, Mrs. Mozelle Bengston, Eugene Hill, Billy Hill, Mrs. Maxine Wiggins, Mrs. Geraldine Hill, Tom Hill, Grand Hill and Dock Hill, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Roy Wiggins, Charles McDonald, Buddy Hill, Brian Hill, Tom Hill Jr., Kenny Hill, Ronnie Hill and Johnny Hill.
Honorary pallbearers were Bob Chapman, Ted Crawford, Charles Noble, Freddy Mulhearn and all of his nephews.
