EDGAR J. ‘SMOKY’ GOURD

Edgar J. “Smoky” Gourd, 38-year-old filling station attendant and a resident here about 10 years, died of pneumonia Sunday at St. Anthony hospital. Gourd became ill suddenly at his home Sunday afternoon and died shortly after being admitted to the hospital.

Born in Claremore, Gourd received his schooling there and lived at Tulsa before coming here. He was employed at the Salty and Lucky Fullerton service station in Packingtown at the time of his death.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Oma Gourd of the home address, 935 Tulsa avenue; a son, Jimmy 6 years old, and his mother and three sisters, all of Tulsa, and a brother.

Services will be announced later by the Marshall funeral home.
