James E. Kelly

James E. Kelly, 81, of Paris died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at his home.

Services will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, La. at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1 with Ken Pearson officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Minden. Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home had charge of local arrangements.

Mr. Kelly was born Dec. 31, 1917, in Garrsmills [sic Gaars Mills], La. to Homer and Ethel Taylor Kelly. He married Ruth Marie Dalton Sept. 12, 1982. He was a welder for many years and was a member of the local welders union out of Tulsa, Okla. He was a wonderful father, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a Baptist and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Saline, La.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Marie; a son, Ricky Kelly and wife Sherrie of Baton Rouge, La.; daughters, Sandra Turner of Fayetteville, Ark., Mrs. Vic (Linda) Frohlich of Spring; Mrs. Kenneth (Barbara) Smith of Paris, Mrs. Joe (Laura) Conway of Holiday, Edith Harrison and Betty O'Neal, both of Paris; sisters, Myrtle Collins of Calvin, La., Ima Jean Lindsey of Minden, Sue Pearson of Minden, and Martha Moreland of Rodgers, Ark.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Long of Minden and brothers, Raymond and Howard Kelly.
