DUNN, JAMES EDWARD ``PAW PAW''
A retired wirelines supervisor with Cardinal Wireline and Terrebonne Wireline, Houma, he died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, at his residence in Gonzales. He was 62 and a native of Sikes. He was a U.S. Army and Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survived by his former wife, Elaine Dunn Pace; two daughters, Barbara and spouse Paul Mumphrey and Cheryl Pace and Dave Eccard, all of Gonzales; two sons, Scott Pace and spouse Jeanine Pace, Gonzales, and Victor Cross, Baton Rouge; a sister, Sydna Allen, Ashland, Tenn.; grandchildren and adopted grandchildren, Cody Mumphrey, Rory Mumphrey, Katie Mumphrey, Hannah Pace, Lainey Burgess, Trey Cross, Ryan Gautreau, Brynn Gautreau Landry, Bucky Landry, Holly Howell, Brooke Gautreau, Scotty Bolduc, Derreck Nash, Trent Leboeuf, Drew Stansell, Krista Cheramie, Josh Bercegeay, Cassidy Rickels, Harold Hudsins, Joye Gautreau, Angelle Abington and Brian Mumphrey.
Preceded in death by parents, Clyde and Laura Gregory Dunn; brother, Paul Dunn; sisters, Betty Lou [sic Bonnie Faye], Gloria Joy Cole; and brother-in-law, Ray Ford [sic Rayford] Cole.
He was loved by many who considered him their adopted dad, ``Paw Paw'' and friend. He brought sunshine into the lives of everyone he met. He was a graduate of Hamshire High School, Hamshire, Texas, and the University of Colorado in journalism. He was a U.S. Merchant Marine master captain of 100-ton vessels. He loved the LSU Tigers, New Orleans Saints and Cajun and swamp pop music. He was of the Full Gospel faith.
