TWO FROM THIS SECTION KILLED
A. H. Wiggins of Waterproof And J. E. Shipman of Rayville Accident Victims
SHREVEPORT, La., Oct. 21 (AP) -- Two men identified by papers on their persons as A. H. Wiggins of Waterproof and J. E. Shipman of Rayville, were instantly killed when their automobile was wrecked by a cable wench attached to an oil field truck 100 yards west of Filmore, Bossier parish, on highway 80 today. The scene of the accident is about 15 miles east of Shreveport.
The bodies of the victims were badly mangled. Dr. J. B. Hall, Bossier coroner, went to the scene, along with highway police, to make an investigation.
The men were killed when their 1936 Chevrolet sedan was unroofed by the cable wench which was used to hold a two-wheeled trailer on the back of the truck after the trailer had become unloosed in some manner and dropped to the highway.
The men in the sedan were going west towards Shreveport and the seven-ton oil truck owned by J. B. Moore, Bossier City contractor, and driven by Paul Coppie of Shreveport, was going east when the accident occurred. Copple was uninjured.
SHIPMAN, WIGGINS BROTHERS-IN-LAW
WATERPROOF, La., Oct. 21 -- AP -- A. H. Wiggins, identified by one of the two men killed in a traffic accident near Shreveport today, was employed by the maintenance department of the Louisiana highway commission at Waterproof. He was en route to the Louisiana State fair to see the Tech-Normal football game this afternoon, having a son, Parker Wiggins, on the Normal grid squad.
J. E. Shipman, identifed as the other victim, was Wiggins' brother-in-law, Mrs. Wiggins being Shipman's sister. Shipman was an automobile dealer at Rayville, but formerly resided at Winnsboro, where he was employed by the highway department. Wiggins left his wife and several small children at Rayville today.

DOUBLE RITES HELD
WINNSBORO, Oct. 23 -- (Special) -- Funeral services were held yesterday at the First Baptist church in Baskin for Abner H. Wiggins, 47, and J. E. Shipman, 44, who were killed Saturday morning in a highway accident near Shreveport. Wiggins had a son, Parker Wiggins, on the Normal grid squad.
Wiggins lived in Waterproof, Tensas parish, and Shipman lived in Baskin, Franklin parish. The men were buried in a double funeral ceremony at the Voax [sic Coax] cemetery near Baskin. Officiating at the services were Rev. J. H. Keys, Rev. L. P. Arender and Rev. Tom Ratcliff.
The Winnsboro funeral home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
