He was a lifetime machinist, working at Vickers, Inc., and Delco Remy, respectively. He was a lifetime member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. He loved his land, his fish, purple martins, honey bees, tractors, and gardening. Where he now resides, may the fishing always be good, the purple martins sing year round, scalding black coffee flows freely, chocolate and sugar cookies, and many loaves of “Mrs. Polly's” pound cakes grow on trees, and peace abounds.
