James E. Walker
James E. Walker of the Tannehill Community passed away Tuesday, june 15, 2010, at the age of 82. Born June 17, 1927, he was the eldest son of Paul j. and Mary E. (Ross) Walker.
A jack of all trades, James was known to many after his service in the U.S. Navy during World War II as the owner of a local auto repair shop, a carpenter, and a small business owner specializing in seismic oil exploration. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Doretha (Hyde) Walker; two sons: David E. Walker of Ruston, LA and Jim (Stacy) Walker of Denver, CO; three daughters: Sherry Laird of Ludington, MI, Pamela James of Winnfield, LA, and Missy Hyman of Winnfield, LA; as well as a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Interment will be Thursday, June 17, 2010, in the Garden of Memories cemetery.
