BRUNER, JAMES E
A retired maintenance supervisor for BASF Wyandotte and resident of Gonzales, he died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, June 13, 1997, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. He was 71 and a native of Ashland, Texas. He was retired from the U.S. Army and a veteran of World War II. Visiting at Welsh Funeral Home, Gonzales, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, and after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Religious services at the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by Daniel Causey. Eulogy will be given by his son, Kenneth Bruner. Interment in Hope Haven Cemetery with full military honors.
Survived by wife, Doris Lester Bruner, Gonzales; mother, Jewel Yancy Bruner, Shreveport; two daughters and a son-in-law, Judy and David Carubba, Gonzales, and Janet Mixon, Baton Rouge; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Carmen Bruner, Youngsville, Billie and Mona Bruner, Baton Rouge, and John and Ho Cha Bruner, Korea; four sisters, Monnie Faye Bruner, Doris Ann Parker, Carolyn DeHunt and Sissy Snyder, allof Shreveport; a brother, Roger Bruner, Shreveport; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by father, James E. Bruner. He was of the Baptist faith.
