JAMES EVERETT McCARTY
TALLULAH -- James “Took” Everett McCarty died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at St. Francis
Medical Center in Monroe. He was 82.
Born in Rayville, La., Mr. McCarty had lived in Madison Parish for 55 years. He
was an Army veteran of World War II and a heavy-equipment operator.
He is survived by two sons, James Ray McCarty of Gibsland, La., and Timothy Lane
McCarty of Shreveport; his daughter, Yvonne Pickens of Dallas, Texas; his brother
Walter Woodrow McCarty of Tallulah; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the
Rev. Charles Gaston officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. Wednesday until the service at the funeral home.
