James F. Mitchell
GULFPORT --- James F. ``Jimmie'' Mitchell, 89, died Saturday, July 3, 1999, in Gulfport.
Mr. Mitchell was born in Gulfport and had been a resident for most of his life. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, where he was a third degree and a fourth degree. He was a member and volunteer with the St. Vincent dePaul Society and a former member of the Great Southern Country Club. He was a retired Coast businessman, former owner of M & M Beverage Company and the M & M Package Store.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Clara Dedeaux Mitchell; and a sister, Vera Mitchell Archer.
Survivors include his wife, Fannie Mae Lowrey Mitchell; two sons, Terry Mitchell Sr. and Travis Mitchell; a daughter, Linda Voivedich, all of Gulfport; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. John Catholic Church in Gulfport, where friends may call an hour prior to service time. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family prefers memorials to the St. Vincent dePaul Society, c/o St. John Catholic Church, 2414 17th Street, Gulfport, MS 39501. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
