James Franklin “Frank” Newman

HAUGHTON, LA - Services for Mr. James Franklin “Frank” Newman will be held at Haughton Baptist Church, Monday, September 20, 1999 at 2 p.m. Officiating the service will be Reverends Mark Eakin and Melton Prothro of Haughton Baptist Church. There will be a Masonic graveside service, and interment will be in Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends at Hill Crest Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Mr. Newman passed away Wednesday, September 15, 1999, while he was hunting in Colorado.

Mr. Newman was born on November 26, 1948, in Henderson, TX. He was the tax supervisor of the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office. Mr. Newman was a Shriner, a member of the Haughton Masonic Lodge #95, Louisiana Peace Officers, and the Louisiana Sheriff's Association. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was very active in coaching youth sports for over 20 years. Mr. Newman was a member of Haughton Baptist Church.

Mr. Newman is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and IvieDell Newman, and father-in-law, Karl E. Stovall. Surviving him is his wife of 32 years, Gayle Stovall Newman; daughter, Leigh Wolf and husband, Charlie; son, Eric Newman and wife, Tiffany; grandchildren, Holland Franklin and Audrey Leigh Wolf; sisters, Sylvia Greis and husband, Ken, Ollie DeWitt and husband, John, Becky Smith; brothers, Richard Newman and wife, Barbara, Rev. Joe Newman and wife, Regina, mother-in-law, Audie Stovall; sister-in-law, Karlene Taylor and husband, Gary; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Maxey, Billy Maxey, Leon Maxey, Larry Bramlett, Ted Ward, Charles Rosalee, Paul Carson, Tony Daves, and Raymond Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sheriff Larry Deen and the Bossier Parish Deputies.

Special thanks to Dr. Robert T. Lafargue for the many years of service and dedication given to Frank and his family.

Donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, St. Jude's, or the American Heart Association.
