James A. Graves

A retired logging and timber contractor, he died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at his home in Ethel. He was 85, a former resident of Centreville, Miss., and a native of Amite County, Miss.

Visiting at Newman Funeral Home, Centreville, on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Jonathon Samuel, pastor of Feliciana Harvest Church. Interment in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Survived by his wife, Mary K. Graves, of Ethel; daughter, Tamara Graves Gill and husband Sean, of McComb, Miss.; special friend, Nancy Coley, of Ethel; two grandchildren, Hannah and Sarah Gill, both of McComb; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lula Graves; son, Gary W. Graves; brothers and sisters, Ardell, Hubert, Leon and Quin Graves and Ora Lee Robinson.

He was a member of Feliciana Harvest Church in Clinton. He was a faithful servant of God, always telling others of the love of Jesus.
