MOORINGSPORT -- Funeral services for Gilbert Smelley, 64, of Mooringsport were held at 10 a.m. today in the chapel of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery near Quitman.
He died at 11 a.m. Tuesday near his residence after an apparent heart attack.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Florence Smelley of Mooringsport, one son, Don Smelley of Bossier City, one daughter, Mrs. Jean Wilkerson of San Angelo, Tex.; five brothers, Orrin Smelley and Hiram Smelley, both of Quitman, Curtis Smelley and Bill Smelley, both of Ruston, and Delton Smelley of Bradley, Ark.; and eight grandchildren.
