James H. Phelps

James H. Phelps, 67, of Magnolia, died May 15, 2002, at his residence.

Visitation is 5-8 tonight at Catchings Funeral Home in McComb, and from noon Saturday until services there at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Jim Dalton will officiate. Burial will be in Guiding Light Cemetery in Magnolia.

Mr. Phelps was born Oct. 11, 1934, in Magnolia. He was the son of Ruthie Temple Phelps of Kentwood, La., and the late Will Phelps.

He was a retired area supervisor for Croft Metals with 25 years service. He was a member of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include his mother; his wife of 44 years, Faye Trayal Phelps of Magnolia; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jerry and Donna Phelps, and Steve Phelps, all of Summit; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Joe Foxworth of McComb; two sisters, Ruby Lee Zeigler of Osyka and Billie Jean Booty of Kentwood; his mother-in-law, Nita Trayal of McComb; seven grandchildren, Kristen and Robert Phelps, Joey, Sean and Amber Foxworth, and Kristin and Kari Bassonette; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Phelps, Earnest Phelps, Glenn Zeigler, Ernie Sanchez, Gary Zeigler and Jerry Burges. Honorary pallbearers will be Mitchel Wallace and Brandon Dillon.
