James H. THORNTON

James H. Thornton, 62, died at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the Huey P. Long Memorial Hospital in Pineville. He was a resident of Alexandria and a retired logger.

He is survived by his son, James E. Thornton of Pineville; a daughter, Mrs. Jimmie Dean Mockosher of Alexandria; a brother, Harold Thornton of Leads, Ala.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Ellen Huffman of Aroura [sic Aurora], Colo., and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Friendship Baptist Church near Sikes. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
