J. H. SMILEY, 82, passed away at his home, Shubuta, Tuesday ... a brief illness. He had spent [his] entire life in Clarke Co. Funeral services held from Hepzibah church Wednesday afternoon, 2 PM, conducted by Rev. Harold W. Anderson.

Survivors - wife, Mamie Fowler SMILEY; one daughter, ____ Minnie REYNOLDS; sons, Ben ____, James, Carl, Shubuta; Robert, Meridian; W. J., Gadsden, AL; ____ Loy, Jackson, MS; brother, A. B. SMILEY, Shubuta; sister, ____ Emma THOMAS, Heidelberg; three grandchildren, Pat, Bobbie ____, Billy SMILEY.
