Walker

J. Hubert Walker, former president of A.B. Clark Lumber Co., died Wednesday of undetermined causes at his home In Metairie. He was 71.

Mr. Walker was a lifelong resident of the New Orleans area. He graduated from Tulane University School of Engineering and was an army veteran. After A.B. Clark closed in 1989, he became a salesman for Duffy Lumber Co. He was a former president of the National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association and a former member of the Acheans Carnival Club.

Survivors include a son, Raymond Clark Walker of Atlanta; a daughter, Ronda Walker Behrens of Covington; a brother, Raymond B. Walker; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at Noon at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
