James ‘Butch’ Joyner

James “Butch” Joyner, 66, died Friday, April 17, 2015, at Modesto Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 15, 1948, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Joyner is survived by his wife of 38 years, Stacy Collins Joyner, sons Matthew Joyner, of Ione, and Mark Joyner, of Valley Springs, brothers, Charles Joyner of Wilseyville, and Gary Joyner of Ione, sister Cheryl Starr of Napa, and three granddaughters.

Joyner served in the Air Force from Feb. 23, 1968, to Dec. 8, 1971. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2600 in San Andreas.

Joyner was a fan of the San Francisco Giants and active in a bowling league in Jackson.

A celebration of life will 12 p.m. Saturday, April 25 at the San Andreas Town Hall.
