James J. Freeman
NATCHEZ -- Graveside services for James J. Freeman, 75, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Diane Woodall officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Freeman was born Nov. 8, 1927, in Adams County, the son of James and Essie Freeman. He was retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Co. and the Adams County. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Harmony Lodge No. 1 and was past president of the Natchez Shrine Club.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Essie Freeman Taylor; his wife, Joyce Freeman; one granddaughter, Ayla Brumbelow; five brothers, Sam Freeman, C.D. Freeman, T.J. Freeman, John Henry Taylor and Marvin Taylor; and three sisters, Bessie Wilson, Hazel Pellegrin and Zelma Campbell.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Freeman and Angie Brown and her husband, Ronny, all of Natchez; one son, Rick Freeman, and his wife, Meg, both of Natchez; three grandchildren, Alan Brumbelow, Hannah Gordon and Lane Gordon; one brother, Jewel Ray Freeman of Natchez; two sisters, Shirley Marchand, and her husband, Irwin, both of Gonzales, La., and Carolyn Taylor of Pearl; one special friend, Donnie Lisenby of Vidalia; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Active pallbearers will be members of Harmony Masonic Lodge No. 1. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital or to a charity of one's choice.
