James J. (Jack) Emmons, Sr.

VIVIAN, LA. - Services for Mr. James J. (Jack) Emmons, Sr., 98, of Vivian, La., will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 21, in McGuire Funeral Home Chapel in Vivian. Officiating will be Rev. J. W. Crow, pastor of Walnut Hill Baptist Church, where Mr. Emmons was a member. Burial will follow in Good Exchange Cemetery at McLeod, TX.

Mr. Emmons died Saturday, May 19, at Doctors Hospital in Shreveport. He had been a resident of Springlake Retirement Village in Shreveport. He was a pioneer of the oil industry. Mr. Emmons will be remembered as a kind, caring father for his family, his fellow man, employees and anyone that knew him in the pathway of life - an honest and great gentleman. He will also be greatly missed by his faithful sitters, Lena and John London and the staff at Springlake Retirement Village.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Jessie Grunden Emmons.

Survivors include two sons, Jack Emmons, Jr., of Queen City, TX, and W. C. Emmons and wife, Mary, of Vivian, La.; two daughters, Kathryn E. Norfleet of Shreveport and Virginia Mosely and husband, James A., of Destin, Florida; a host of nieces and nephews; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be James Caskey, Jamie Emmons, Jim Parker, James W. Emmons, George Boyd and James Poole.
