BROWN COUNTY RANCHER DIES
J. J. McDaniel, Brother of Abilenians, Will Be Buried Today
J. J. McDaniel, 73, brother of J. S. and E. R. McDaniel and Mrs. S. M. Jay, Abilenians, died yesterday at his home in Brownwood. He had been in ill health for several months.
Mr. McDaniel, a ranchman, had lived in Brown county for about 50 years, moving recently from Winchell to Brownwood. He was survived by his wife and three children, Vesta, J. J. Jr., and Frank McDaniel, and, besides the Abilene brothers and sisters, two brothers, S. M. McDaniel of Ardmore, Okla., and M. W. McDaniel of Brownwood.
Before moving to Brown county, Mr. McDaniel lived in Fort Worth, where his parents were pioneer settlers. He moved to Texas from South Carolina, his native state, in childhood.
Mr. and Mrs. J. S. McDaniel, E. R. McDaniel, and Miss Maybelle McDaniel, a niece, were at the bedside when Mr. McDaniel died. Mr. and Mrs. Jay are to go to Brownwood this morning. S. M. McDaniel is also expected from Ardmore to attend the funeral, which will be held at Winchell this afternoon.
