James J. Duby

James Joseph Duby, 52, of Longview passed away at home May 24, 2012.

He was born Nov. 7, 1959, in San Jose, Calif., to Jerald W. and Norma L. (Southwood) Duby Sr. he moved to Longview in 1972 and graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1978.

Jim married Brenda O'Dell in 1984.

He was a manager for Paramount Supply Co., for eight years, with 20 years in the wholesale pipe value and sales industry. Well-known for his dedication to his many customers and friends through his work. He was a craftsman, classic car lover, and loved music and movies. Jim enjoyed his home and family. He was thrilled about his new grandson and the second one on the way.

He leaves behind his soul mate, business partner, best friend and wife, Brenda Duby; a son, Jeremy (Rhiannon) Prim; a daughter, Mistina (Floyd) Venesky; two brothers, Jerald “Bill” (Virginia) Duby Jr., and Paul (Kelly) Duby; three sisters, Jerrie (Edward) Hubbuch, Cathy (Coe) Latham and Maree Colton; and a grandson, Richard (R.J.) Veneskey.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert Duby.

A funeral service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday at Steele Chapel. Private interment will take place at Longview Memorial Park. Viewings are planned from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
