James Johns
James Johns, age 68, of Winnfield, died Monday, December 23, 2003 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.
Mr. Johns was employed by the Winn Parish Sheriff's Department and was a member of First Baptist Church of Dodson. He was employed by Winn Rock for 15 years and retired from the Louisiana National Guard.
He was the son of the late James Johns and the late Mary Rolen Johns.
Survivors include his wife Jo Ann three daughters, Alpha Boyett and her husband Toby of Dodson, Becky Cockerham and her husband Mike of Winnfield, and Gayla Little and her husband Jamie of Winnfield three sons, David Johns and his wife Anna of Natchitoches, George "Tony" A. Johns and his wife Lori of Monroe and Mark C. Johns and his wive Velma of Winnfield three sisters, Beth Wright of Lake Helen, Florida, Mary A. Johns and Kathy Breman, both of Bossier City three brothers, Billy Johns of Jonesboro and Kindell Johns and Sammy Johns, both of Bossier City 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home, Inc., 202 E. Lafayette St, Winnfield, La. where the family recieved friends from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral services were at Southern Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003 with Rev. Kelly Tingle, Rev. Donnie Wise and Rev. Glen Fogger offiiating. Interment was in Zion Hill Cemetery in Winnfield.
