James Banks

Funeral services for James L. Banks, 76, of 318 Bell Ave., Monroe, were held at 2 p.m. today in Southside United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lea Joyner officiating.

Burial was in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Banks died Saturday evening in St. Francis Hospital after a short illness.

A retired Olinkraft employe, he was a member of the International Brotherhood of Pulp and Paper Mill Workers No. 512.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Arzell Banks of Monroe; a son, Buddy Banks of Monroe; five daughters, Mrs. Mildred Moore and Mrs. Audie Brown, both of Monroe, Mrs. Hazel Russell of Shreveport, Mrs. Louise Hennen of Sterlington, and Mrs. Gay Rogers of West Monroe; three brothers, Seville Banks of Monroe, Henry Banks of Texas and Bud Banks of Hosston; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Carter of Greenville, Miss.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
