Dr. James Lilburn Henderson
OXFORD -- Dr. James Lilburn Henderson, 69, retired clinical psychologist at the University of Mississippi, died of heart failure Friday at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, where he was a member, with burial in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Waller Funeral Home has charge.
He was a member and former district governor of Rotary International. A graduate of Rhodes College in Memphis and Austin Theological Seminary at the University of Texas, he received a PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Houston. A former Presbyterian minister, he retired as director of the counseling center at the University of Mississippi.
Dr. Henderson leaves a daughter, Jamie Henderson of Oxford; a son, Jon Henderson of Fort Worth, Texas; a brother, Dr. William H. Henderson of Oxford, and two grandchildren.
The family requests that any memorials be sent to First Presbyterian Church or the Chancellor's Trust at the University of Mississippi.
